A Bit About the Role

This is an exciting and varied opportunity for someone to help enhance and further shape the operational risk framework within BNK and establish themselves as an all-round risk management expert. 

The role will support BNK colleagues in understanding and maintaining adherence to BNK’s operational risk obligations, assist with and provide analytical based risk insight (including credit and technology risk) to the relevant risk committees, including the Board Risk & Compliance Committee. 

This role is suitable for a graduate or someone with 1-3 years experience in a risk role.

What you will bring

  • Basic understanding of risk management principles and regulatory compliance.

  • Effective written and verbal communication skills, including the ability to explain concepts clearly and concisely to different stakeholders. 

  • Ability to work collaboratively and manage multiple tasks in a fast-paced environment.

  • Strong attention to detail and a willingness to learn new concepts and systems.

  • Organised, self-motivated and driven to work independently.

  • Experience within the Financial or Professional Services industries is preferred but not essential, this is a role that will allow you to grow as a risk professional.

  • Knowledge of APRA, ASX and ASIC regulations and legislation (desirable). 

  • Bachelor’s degree in Business, Finance, or other relevant discipline.

Key Responsibilities

  • Assist in the preparation of risk reports for relevant risk committees.

  • Support the Control Assurance Plan by helping to review and document key controls.

  • Conduct root cause analysis of issues and incidents, and provide support for control improvements.

  • Support the preparation and review of risk and compliance policies.

  • Provide support to Line 1 business areas impacted by regulatory change by providing advice on compliance obligations and review of compliance activities.

  • Assist in compliance monitoring activities and regulatory reporting.

  • Assist with the development and management of BNK’s compliance training program.

  • Contribute to risk assessments for new projects and change initiatives.

  • Support the identification and tracking of compliance risks and issues.

  • Help analyse regulatory updates and assess their impact on BNK Group.

  • Work with various stakeholders to understand processes and assist in documenting risk and controls.

  • Participate in training and development programs to build expertise in risk management.
