Risk-Driven Scenario Planning - Embracing Strategic Foresight

To support our member’s need to manage future uncertainty, RMIA has partnered with Associate Professors Ben Brooks and Steve Curnin, creators of the Stretch Thinking Loops technique to deliver this new, unique course ‘Risk-Driven Scenario Planning’.

This technique is being used by federal and state governments and major ASX listed companies to anticipate future risk. Steve and Ben deliver over a decade of research and experience of this work in this intensive 2 day course. They are master facilitators and experienced educators determined you’ll see the value and understand the science behind risk-driven scenario planning. Steve and Ben personally produced the majority of the research that this course uses, so they speak intimately to this, and can provide all the insight you need to successfully apply this technique in your organisation.

The course will teach you how to create plausible risk-based scenarios for futures at different time horizons. It applies a rigorous technique that embeds the latest understanding of decision-making, team performance, critical and creative thinking. This process turns future risks into detailed, understandable narratives that engage your audience in the risk conversation.

The course applies a blended delivery with approximately 3-hours of self-paced online learning followed by a 2-day face to face learning experience. The course is size-limited to maximize interactions with the teaching team.
